Frequently Asked Questions

We know that choosing a financial advisor can be a daunting task. That's why we've answered some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from prospective clients.

How do I get started?

The first step is to book a free consultation to give you a chance to learn more about us and our services and for us to learn more about your goals and objectives.

You can book your free consultation here.

2

How often will we meet together?

We have varying meeting schedules depending on the services you enroll in.

For example, under our Project-Based Financial Planning model, the planning process will be executed over the course of several meetings.

Typically, our clients enrolled in our Wealth Management service meet with us a minimum of 2X per year (but have the option to meet with us more regularly if needed). Additionally, we are available for ongoing phone and email support as needed.

3

What does it mean to be a fiduciary?

Under the fiduciary standard, advisors are legally sworn and obligated to always place the best interest of their client ahead of their own. They must disclose any conflicts of interest, and clearly define how they are paid.

All financial planners at Advanced Practice Planning, LLC are fiduciaries. You can learn more about what it means to be a fiduciary in the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL ADVISOR™ Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.

4

Do you sell any financial or investment products like annuities or insurance that make you commission?

In short, no we don’t sell any investment or insurance products.

Advanced Practice Planning, LLC is a “fee-only” financial planning firm which means the only compensation we receive is from the clients who pay us directly for our services.

That being said, we can help you evaluate if is a need for these types of products and provide resources to help you obtain them on your own or connect you with another professional in our network to help (we don’t receive any commissions if we recommend you work with another professional).

If you have existing contracts/policies, we do review these as part of our planning process to help you determine if they are still appropriate or if you need to cancel or replace them.

4

Do you work remotely/virtually?

We work with clients throughout the country using virtual meetings, conference calls, e-mails, secure file transfer, and an integrated suite of client service and financial software. You don’t need to be local to partner with our firm.

Of course we are happy to meet face to face if you are nearby, and we can travel to meet with you.

4

Can I still work with you if I’m not in the healthcare profession?

Of course! While working with Advanced Practice Providers is our specialty, we do have clients in various fields such as education, corporate finance, legal professionals, sales professionals, and more.

Ultimately it comes down to your planning needs and objectives when determining if we’re a good fit to work together.
